“Our innate creativity and diversity makes Ealing special and we want this to share that with as many of our residents as possible to celebrate our creative spirit. Ealing has helped shape culture across the world. We are the home of British film and the roots of British rock, Desi and Bhangra. Our vibrant culture today is about much more than this and it reflects the unique identities of our communities and our seven towns. This passion, plus a demand for more places and equal opportunities for culture were voiced loudly when we consulted on our Cultural Manifesto.

This new website is one of the many positive results of our Cultural Manifesto and I hope that we can grow this into a great resource for our residents and support Ealing’s amazing, diverse cultural communities. Please help us by sharing your ideas and submitting information about your fantastic events so that we can spread the word about the exciting arts and culture scene in the borough.”

Our ambitions for arts and culture

When developing Ealing’s cultural manifesto you told us that Ealing needs

Your ideas

An annual celebration of our diverse cultural heritage, that would showcase all the great aspects of Ealing residents.

Judy, Greenford

Have studio space to hire out to local artists who can work alongside other creatives that work with different mediums – jewellery, pottery, textiles, glass, art etc.

Bottlebee, Hanwell

A venue where people know that they can go out and have a good old sing-a-long in a safe, comfortable and community friendly environment.

Chris, West Ealing

Art galleries, nature activities and competitions (grave bike, running etc), photography fairs, graffiti artists, and murals.

Eddie, Hanwell

Build a recreational space for celebrations inside one of the green spaces of Ealing.

Majid, Perivale

Indian drums and dancers would be really good.

Neelam, Southall

Food Art promoting healthy diet and art would be fantastic idea

Sebastian, Greenford

Access for all to creative activities, especially children, young people and also for the elderly. This is an age group that can be so easily forgotten about.

Nicole, Acton

Support artists to create a vibrant art scene, offering empty spaces as exhibition spaces! Use our wonderful parks to create annual festivals and events

Andrea, Northolt

I’d like to see initiatives that inspire young people to turn waste into art

Kai, Acton

It would be amazing to reflect Ealing’s rich history with the origins of Rock and Roll by having a permanent music venue attracting musical artists of all styles

Philip, Ealing

We have wonderful green space which was so important during the lockdowns. Maybe there could be a celebration of parks through different art forms?

Lesley, West Ealing
